A Midsummer Night’s Dream for New York City Ballet
This was more than a promo. It was a reimagination.
To announce A Midsummer Night’s Dream for New York City Ballet, we built a surreal, cinematic world – a blend of craft and storytelling designed to transport, not just represent.
This meant designing and constructing a fully digital environment from the ground up. We layered in atmospheric details – floating particles, shifting moonlight, and subtle, organic movement – to make it feel alive, grounded, and dreamlike. Using a minimal studio setup, we captured choreographed sequences with precision, weaving in elements of the story’s iconography to expand the world beyond the stage – all anchored by a single oak tree. What you see in the final film is the result of that delicate interplay: moving through imagined worlds.
This project brought together everything we love -narrative, visual storytelling, and a chance to honour a legacy while building something entirely new.
A world between worlds. A dream, brought to life.
